The project builds the scientific basis for conserving carnivores, their prey, and their habitats across the Himalayas. It adopts an interdisciplinary approach and works in close collaboration with traditional mountain communities to support the long-term integrity of these high-altitude ecosystems.
The Himalayan Wolves Project is evolving into the Himalayan Carnivore Project, while continuing to focus on its core strength: studying Himalayan wolves and coexisting carnivores to inform and advance nature conservation. The long-term persistence of wolves depends on the health of the entire ecosystems they inhabit.
